“I am pleased to announce that we have won the CFI Best Life Assurer Southern Africa award for the third consecutive year”, said Bridget Mokwena-Halala Assupol Life CEO.
“This award programme looks for “individuals and organisations that contribute significantly to the convergence of economies and truly add value for all stakeholders. The Awards Programme aims to identify and reward excellence in the hope to inspire others to further improve their own performance.”
“It is an honour to be recognised for excellence in emerging economies and adding value to all our stakeholders. We always strive to treat our clients fairly by rendering outstanding service and providing products that are relevant and specifically tailored for our market. We have for years proven to be successful at this, subsequently CFI has recognised us again which proves that we are consistent in our pursuit of excellence”, she further added.
Over a century in business and offering funeral, life, savings, and retirement annuity policies, Assupol has become a fixture in the South African insurance sector. “We maintain a 27% share of the market in the government sector. We are determined to replicate our success in the broader market, taking on much larger competitors by focusing on innovative products, excellent customer experience and our signatory no-nonsense processing of claims. In fact, we have consistently processed claims in under 48 hours. The aim is always to help our less financially resilient policyholders, by pioneering a model that offers near-instant cash advances on claims. We pride ourselves by honouring the promises we made to clients. This is a competitive advantage that we must nurture and preserve”.
The judges’ comments amongst others are as follows: “Assupol, amongst other things, leverage its network of branches and agents put a human face and apply a human touch to its services. Policy holders do not need to navigate complicated phone routines. They can address their concerns at local offices. Maintaining close proximity with clients and keeping policyholders abreast of developments are key to Assupol’s enduring success. To that end, the company deployed four mobile offices that travel the country and offer assistance in areas not yet fully covered by their network of more than seventy branches.”
The judges saw Assupol fit to win this award again this year because of the “continued dedication to operational excellence”.
Bridget proudly said “We pride ourselves in knowing and caring for our clients. This transpires in everything we do, from selling policies in the field, to client service at branch and head office level, to the everyday running of the business, to our business partners that help us deliver a great service”.
