Assupol On-Call is a comprehensive range of free services included with many of our products.

HIV / Aids Advice & Information Line

  • Information and Advice Line on HIV / AIDS
  • Advice on safe sex
  • If you or a member of your family are raped, we will provide you with the morning-after pill to prevent pregnancy as well as the appropriate drugs to prevent you from becoming HIV positive.

Medical Advice & Information Line

  • Qualified nursing sisters will provide you with advice and information on any medical condition eg: ear-ache, dehydration, chicken pox, etc.
  • Information and advice on poisons and drugs
  • Advice on pregnancy and baby care
  • General medical information
  • Referrals to doctors, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, dentists.

Emergency Ambulance Service

  • In the event of an accident, injury or illness
  • An ambulance to the nearest most appropriate hospital
  • Guaranteed hospital admission up to R5,000 to prevent any delay in treatment, however, will be refunded by either your medical aid or yourself, after the event
  • If your children are stranded due to your accident or illness, we will transport them to a family member or safe place · Transport of life-saving medicines or blood.

The Emergency Ambulance Service has no age restrictions, no financial limits and no medical examination is required, but excludes self-inflicted injuries.

Transportation of the Deceased & Bereavement Line

In the event of the death of the assured life either by natural causes, HIV/AIDS related illness or due to a medical emergency, all costs related to the transportation of the deceased back to their place of residence within South Africa will be arranged. This benefit is excluded for self-inflicted injuries.

The Bereavement Line will assist you with the following services in the event of death:

  • Funeral or cremation arrangements
  • Explanation of your funeral policies
  • Referrals to pathologists or a recommended undertaker
  • Transport of the deceased to their home town in South Africa (Financially Unlimited)
  • Assistance in obtaining a death certificate following accidental death
  • Telephonic Trauma counselling in the event of family or domestic abuse, rape, suicide, unemployment or retrenchment, hijack, robbery, HIV/AIDS, death, divorce or drug abuse. This benefit is excluded for self-inflicted injuries.
  • If telephonic counselling is not sufficient we will arrange for face-to-face counselling with an appropriate Psychologist or Psychiatrist up to a maximum of R5,000 per annum per beneficiary.
  • Telephonic counselling with relevant Psychologist or Therapist
  • Legal Assistance regarding the deceased’s will and property
  • If the funeral is between 50km and 150km away, we will make the necessary travel arrangements and pay up to a maximum of R400 (R100 per person) for a maximum of four immediate family members of the deceased to attend the funeral
  • If the funeral is more than 150km away we will make the necessary arrangements and pay up to a maximum of R2,000 (R500 per person) for four immediate family members of the deceased to attend the funeral.

Trauma Counselling

  • Telephonic Trauma counselling in the event of family or domestic abuse, rape, suicide, unemployment or retrenchment, hijack, robbery, HIV/AIDS, death, divorce or drug abuse. This benefit is excluded for self-inflicted injuries.
  • If telephonic counselling is not sufficient we will arrange for face-to-face counselling with an appropriate Psychologist or Psychiatrist up to a maximum of R5,000 per annum per beneficiary.

Tutor Line

Teachers will help children telephonically with their homework and school projects.

  • Assistance with all the Primary and High School major subjects: Maths, Science, English, Geography, Afrikaans, Accounting, Economics, Business Economics and Biology
  • Teachers can send information to children via fax, email or mail
  • Teachers are from Waterkloof High School in Pretoria.

The Tutor Line is available from Sunday to Thursday - 6pm to 9pm.

Financial Advice Line

The Financial Advice Line will help you with information on financial services and give you advice on how to avoid "Fraudulent Moneymaking" schemes:
