BENEFITS

Basic Plan

  • Death Benefit which pays a lump sum upon the death of the Life Assured.

Automatically Included

  • A Terminal Illness Benefit of 100% of the Death Benefit sum assured upon diagnosis of a terminal illness.
  • A Pre-acceptance Accidental Death Benefit of up to R500 000 from the date of application for up to 60 days while the application is under review.

FEATURES

  • Minimum premium payable is R150 per month.
  • Level and 5% compulsory increasing premium patterns are available.
  • Voluntary premium increases of up to 20% per annum may be elected.
  • Cover increases are based on the elected voluntary premium increase percentage.
  • Premiums are guaranteed for 5 years.
  • Premiums are guaranteed not to increase by more than 15% if premiums are reviewed.
  • The Progress Legacy Plan provides whole-life cover.
  • The Policy may be ceded or used as security for a housing loan.
  • Medical underwriting is required.
  • A financial plan designed around your risk protection needs.

The Progress Accident Plan

Assupol Life offers protection in the event of an accident.

BENEFITS

Basic Plan

  • A lump sum is paid on the accidental death or physical impairment of the Life Assured.
  • Payout percentages vary for the different claim events and are based on the severity of the claim event.
  • The Accidental Death and Physical Impairment Benefit claim events and payout percentages are indicated in the following table:

FEATURES

  • The Progress Accident Plan term is to age 65 of the Life Assured.
  • Level premiums are payable for the Progress Accident Plan.
  • Premiums are guaranteed for five years.
    Premiums are guaranteed not to increase by more than 15% if premiums are reviewed.
  • A declaration of health must be completed.

Progress 4Sure Plan

Assupol Life makes life, disability and dread disease cover easy! No blood tests. Minimal underwriting required.

BENEFITS

Death Benefit

  • Lump sum payable on death.
  • Phasing in of cover over 18 months for death due to natural causes.
  • No phasing in for claims due to accidental causes.
  • R50 000 to R200 000 sum assured.

Main Life Funeral Benefit

  • Automatically included for all Progress 4Sure Plans.
  • No additional premium.
  • 10% of the Main Life Assured sum assured capped at R10 000 are paid on death.
  • Accelerated payment of the Death Benefit sum assured, and not an additional payment (i.e. claims reduce remaining Death Benefit sum assured).

Spouse Funeral Benefit

  • Automatically included if Main Life Assured is married.
  • No additional premium.
  • 10% of the Main Life Assured sum assured capped at R10 000 are paid on death of the Spouse.
  • Additional payment that does not reduce the Main Life Assured's Death Benefit sum assured.

Funeral Benefits - Children, parents and parents-in-law

  • Funeral cover may be added for the children (own or legally adopted), parents and parents-in-law of the Main Life Assured.
  • The Funeral Benefit sum assured may not exceed 10% of the Main Life Assured's Death Benefit sum assured to a maximum of R10 000.

Terminal Illness

  • 95% of the Death Benefit sum assured is paid on diagnosis of a terminal illness in respect of the Main Life Assured.

Physical Disability Benefit

  • Lump sum payout made for loss of use of limbs, senses, head trauma and other physical disabilities.
  • Accelerated payment of the Death Benefit sum assured (i.e. claims reduce remaining Death Benefit sum assured).

Dread Disease Benefit

  • Lump sum payout for heart attack, stroke, cancer and other dread diseases.
  • Accelerated payment of the Death Benefit sum assured (i.e. claims reduce remaining Death Benefit sum assured).

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

Cover Increase Option

  • Cover may be increased on certain life events, within certain parameters and after a health questionnaire has been completed.
  • Automatically included without an additional premium.

Regular Premium/Cover growth

  • Premium growth of 6% per annum may be elected. This will result in a 4% annual increase in benefits.

Assupol On-Call

  • Optional benefit.
  • Transportation of the deceased.
  • Guaranteed hospital admission.
  • Medical, financial and tutor advice lines.

4Sure Loyalty Reward

  • After every 10 years, 10% of all Progress 4Sure Plan premiums contributed during the 10 years are refunded.
  • No additional premium is charged for this feature.

OR

4Sure 100% Cashback Benefit

  • After every 10 claim-free years, 100% of all Progress 4Sure Plan premiums contributed during the 10 years are refunded.
  • An additional premium is charged for this benefit.
  • No amount is payable if the policy or benefit is cancelled before the end of the 10-year term.

UNDERWRITING

Underwriting requirements

  • No HIV test or medical tests required.
  • Life Assured must be formally employed and earning at least R2500 per month.
  • Recent salary statement required.
